Research

Every choice an organization makes — who to hire, which project to fund, what actions to take — traces back to a judgment call. Strip away the context, and what remains is a person (or a group of people) weighing judgment and making a decision. That is what I study.

My research asks how people judge, decide, and coordinate — and how these processes change when the decision maker is not one person but a team, a multiteam system, or an entire organization. I draw on the judgment and decision making (JDM) space to understand when human judgment works, when it breaks down, and what conditions tip the balance.
